BCSC is always looking for instructors of the highest caliber.  All paid positions require fingerprinting and a background investigation through Baltimore County.  If you would like to join our team, please review the positions available and proceed to the on-line application.

AVAILABLE POSITIONS FOR 2008 SEASON

PROGRAM DIRECTOR - Candidate will be responsible for day to day operations of the sailing center. Strong management and people skills are required. Employment will be full-time and year round.

SAILING CAMP INSTRUCTOR - Must be over 18 and hold US SAILING level I certification; instructor (withassistant) will be responsible for approximately 10 students, age 8-15, in our single handed Xcites.  Employment runs from June 25 through August 17 (8 weeks).

SAILING CAMP ASSISTANT - Must be over 16, hold MD safe boater certificate, and be able to competently handle both a sailboat and powerboat; assistant will assist instructor in all aspects of training students.  Employment runs from June 25 through August 17 (8 weeks).

SAILING CAMP VOLUNTEER - This unpaid position offers an opportunity to those not yet 16 who would like to get experience working in a summer sailing camp setting.  Sailing experience and MD safe boater certificate required.

OPTIMIST COACH (White, Blue, Red Fleets) - Must be over 18 and hold US SAILING level II certification; coach will be responsible for our White, Blue and Red fleet Optimist racers.  Employment runs from mid June  through early August  (8 weeks).

OPTIMIST COACH (Green Fleet)- Must be over 18 and hold US SAILING level II certification; coach will be responsible for our Green Fleet Optimist racers   Employment runs from mid June  through early August  (8 weeks).

LASER RACING COACH - Must be over 18 and hold US SAILING level II certification; coach will be responsible for our Laser radial racers.  Employment runs from mid June  through early August  (8 weeks).

ADULT PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR - BCSC offers several Adult Learn-to-Sail programs and are always looking for instructors to help out.  This volunteer position is entitled to benefits such as free participation in BCSC programs.
