Summer Camp 2010
BCSC Sailing Camps will make your child into a confident, sea savvy skippers in as little as one week. These campers are introduced to sailing concepts and terms in a fun and safe environment. Sailors are taught how to rig, launch, and control a small sailboat through games, drills, destination sails, and dry land activities. Two week sections also introduce sailboat racing concepts and will include participation in our exciting "Camp Champs Regattas". All classes are taught by US Sailing certified instructors and who tend the classes from small powerboats.
Introduction to Sailing
ages 8-13 This basic class in an introduction to sailing for beginners. No prior sailing experience is required.
Novice Sailing
ages 9-13 A continuation of the introductory experience. Class topics include rigging, steering, sail trim, boat heel, chart reading, racing, and responsible boating. We recommend that campers attend at least two weeks of the Introduction class before registering for the novice class. Sailors often take the novice class multiple times to continue building skills and having fun.
Teen Sailing
ages 12-18 Our Teen Sailing program is a sailing camp experience especially tailored to give teens an age appropriate sailing camp experience. Participants sail the more spacious and swift JY15 sailboats. These boats are sailed double handed so teens are paired for all sailing activities. Coaches emphasize boat speed, skipper and crew cooperation, sail trim, and performance boat handling. Activities include team building activities, performance drills, destination sails to local islands and beaches, chart reading and navigation, games, and racing. Graduates of the Teen Sailing class often go on to participate in the Scholastic Sailing Program and the Racing Team.
Windsurfing
ages 10-17,This camp is specifically designed for the beginning windsurfer. The step by step system of land simulation followed by water practice will allow a beginner to learn quickly. Our lessons emphasize balance and technique over strength allows you to learn quicker and easier.
Fishing Camp
ages 10-16, Back for its second summer! Our popular Fishing Camp is a blast for kids ranging from beginners to the most avid anglers. Campers learn to collect bait, select a fishing spot, bait their hooks, cast a line, and reel in a keeper. Participants also learn how to gut, and clean various types of fish in a safe manner. Campers must bring their own fishing rods, complete with reel, line, and hooks.
Chesapeake Childhood
ages 8-12,This camp is a celebration of all the things that make growing up on the Chesapeake Bay so special. Kids enjoy a broad range of activities including sailing, fishing, kayaking, swimming, sand castle building, beach volleyball, navigation and orienteering, cook outs, environmental responsibility, and crabbing. This a great camp for kids who enjoy playing outside and in the water.

Summer Camp Bus Service
Bus Service is included for all of our summer camps. All stops are at pre-arranged locations with easy access to the Beltway. Times are approximate due to changing traffic conditions and the number of stops required each week. The bus cannot wait if a parent is not there to drop off or pick up the camper. Bus service is available on a first come first served bases. Please indicate your de-sired bus stop on your registration form and submit a completed Bus Permit to reserve your seat on the bus.
