ANNOUNCEMENT OF SEASONAL PROGRAMS DIRECTOR

The Baltimore County Sailing Center is preparing for another terrific season of serving the interests of sailors and others in Baltimore County and across the region who want to enjoy waterfront activities on the Chesapeake Bay.  And it is therefore with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of Eileen Fahrmeier to the position of Seasonal Programs Director. 

Eileen comes to us with a wealth of sailing instruction experience, much of that being gained as part of the BCSC instructor staff from 1997 to 2005.  She helped foster an Opti racing program in 2002 and coached that fleet until 2005.  She has taught as a U.S. Sailing Level 1 and Level 2 Certified instructor, and she is currently pursuing a U.S. Coast Guard Captain's license.  Eileen comes to us most recently from Getaway Sailing in Canton, Maryland where she has continued to add to her impressive list of sailing instruction success.

A graduate of Clemson University where she was captain of the university sailing team, Eileen's degree field included study of the environment and natural resources.  That aligns extremely well with the mission of BCSC and serves as a valuable complement to her extensive sailing experience.  Our summer camp offerings include the Chesapeake Childhood and Fishing Camp programs, each geared to teach children about 'all things Chesapeake' and help them foster respect for the bay while enjoying childhood activities they won't soon forget.

Please join with the Board of Advisors in warmly welcoming Eileen 'back home' with us here at Baltimore County Sailing Center.  When possible, please come by the Sailing Center to meet Eileen and to see the activities this season.  She will come aboard as Seasonal Programs Director effective March 28th.  

And remember... BCSC depends on the support of sailing families and others who volunteer their time to make the Sailing Center one of the best, most accessible sailing venues on the Chesapeake Bay.  We thank all of you who have helped us serve our community for almost 20 years now, and the Board of Advisors... and Eileen... welcome your continued support!
