Xcite National Championship Regatta results
Twenty-eight sailors participated in the 1st Annual Xcite National Championship Regatta on Saturday August 9. The event, hosted by Baltimore County Sailing Center and sponsored by JY / Hunter Composite Technologies Inc, drew sailors from age 10 through 67 to the waters off Rocky Point in Baltimore County. Winds were light in the morning but built to 12 knots in the afternoon.
Lauren Abramson was first overall with 9 points, followed by Clemson sailor Eileen Fahrmeier taking second with 22 pts and Jimmy Mersereau taking third with 30 pts.
Christina Hayden took first in the junior division followed by Alex Brylske and Andrew Rybczynski in second and third.
The event was organized by the staff of Baltimore County Sailing Center’s summer camp as a challenge to instructors of other sailing programs, but was opened to all sailors. The regatta highlighted the center’s new 42 boat fleet of 10’ Xcite sailboats
