Parent Day / Open House - June 7, Noon - 3PM
Parents and prospective campers are welcome and encouraged to visit the
Sailing Center on Saturday, June 7, from noon until 3 PM, for an open
house. This is a great opportunity to meet our instructors, see our
fleet and maybe even go
for a sail. Food and refreshments provided.
YOUTH SUMMER SAILING CAMPS
teach kids how to sail in a safe, yet fun setting. We have spaces
for children who are between the ages of 8-16 years old. Kids love
our camps because they get to sail their own boat, a 10' Hunter Xcite.
At the beginning of each session, campers are divided into groups based on their
sailing ability. Novice sailors will be introduced to the basics of sailing
and will learn how to rig, launch, and steer a boat. Campers with
intermediate and advanced sailing skills will be introduced to
performance sailing and racing techniques.
On the
last Friday of each session, parents are invited and encouraged to attend our
Graduation Day celebration. On this day, campers will sail their boats
independently around a series of buoys and perform various maneuvers for an
audience of proud parents.
Each of our two-week sessions runs Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to
3 PM, and it includes bus transportation to and from designated sites around the
Beltway. [See Bus Schedule] Since all of our camps sell out quickly,

Special One-week Sessions
This year, early in June and late in August, we will be offering the same great sailing camps in a one-week format. The cost of each one-week session is $250.
No bus transportation is provided.
