Friday, June 5, 2020—UPDATE

With Governor Hogan and County Executive Olzewski’s move to Stage 2 of the Roadmap to Recovery and in collaboration with Baltimore County Recreation and Parks, the Board of Directors now has an opportunity to “Save the Summer” and is attempting to design modified camps in a safe and appropriate manner.  Details will follow shortly.  Stay tuned!!

BCSC summer camp is a unique and unforgettable experience. We specialize in not only sailing but creating a passion for the Chesapeake Bay.  Through BCSC's proven methodology, every child who has enrolled in our sailing camps has learned to sail by the end of a two-week camp. They will leave camp graduation with a well deserved sense of accomplishment.

But its not just learning how to sail, windsurf, fish or kayak. Life on the water is so much more. Our campers develop life long skills:

  • Self-confidence

  • Teamwork

  • Communication

  • Leadership

  • Decision making

  • Problem solving

  • Resilience

  • Determination

  • Responsibility

  • Spacial awareness

  • Balance

  • Alertness

  • Physical and mental fitness

  • Camp runs 9:00 am-4:00 pm Monday-Friday.

  • We will attempt to make our trip for Island Day on the first Friday of each session and will have graduation starting at 2pm on the final Friday of each session.

  • Both the Towson bus and Catonsville bus will be running all four sessions of camp. In the Spring, a detailed bus schedule while be sent. While we attempt to accommodate all campers with the bus service, sign up early to be assured a spot.

  • Prior to camp, a list of required and suggested items will be sent to each camp family. It really is whatever your child will need for a day on and off the water; lunch, snack, water bottle, sunscreen, hat, sunglasses etc.

  • In the case of inclement weather, except in extreme cases, we will have camp. We have all sorts of important activities to keep the sailors progressing even when we can't get on the water. However, if you prefer to keep your child home that is no problem, just send us an email, so we can account for your child missing.
