SUMMER CAMP FAQs
Communications
All of our communications are via email with 2 exceptions.
-
we have tried to reach you via email and need to resolve an issue with your account, etc.
-
your child is at camp and we need to speak with you in relation to health or behavior issues.
Please check your spam folder if you do not see an email within 10 minutes of registering, please make sure all your contact phone numbers are up to date. If your child gets sick and we need to reach you and we need to reach you, no different then school or daycare.
If we call you to come pick up your child (which does not happen often) you or your designee needs to pick up the child in a very timely manner.
Registration
Registration for summer camp opens January 1, 2025. Early bird pricing ends 01/31/25.
All registrations go through the Camp Brain website.
Bus Transportation
We offer bus transportation across Baltimore County and Baltimore City. We have designated stops, all of which require highway use and are picking up and dropping off campers during rush hour. Occasionally the buses are delayed due to accidents and other traffic issues. We do our best to communicate these issues when we are aware. Here is the link to the bus information: https://www.bcsailing.org/copy-of-summer-camp-policies
Our management team works very hard to make sure every bus riding camper is on the correct bus. We do need your assistance with this. You will receive an email several weeks before your camp session which indicates which bus (if you selected a bus and stop) your camper will ride. Please make sure that information is correct. If it is not correct, please email Ellen ASAP to resolve this issue, ellen@bcsailing.org. Also, please discuss with your child before you put them on the bus; which bus they are riding and which stop the will be getting off the bus. Only select 1 bus stop and only use one bus stop to have less confusion for our staff and your child(ren).
Car Riders
If your camper is coming and going via the car, please do not drop off anyone in the roadway. Pull into the park, tell the gate attendant you are here to drop off for camp and walk your camper(s) to the front gate where the management team will great you.
At the end of the day, come to the main gate and sign your camper(s) out.
Lunch, drinks, snacks, water and sunscreen
Make sure your child has enough food and snacks to last throughout a very busy day.
A reusable water bottle is very important. We do not have disposable cups, but do have plenty of water. Water refill stations are in multiple locations in camp.
Sunscreen: Apply sunscreen to your child(ren) before sending them to camp each day. Also, send sunscreen for your camper(s). We will remind them to reapply.
