Dan Flanigan - President

Dan and his wife helped to establish the Special Olympics Sailing program in the state of Maryland and at the International level, starting in 1983. He coaches the Baltimore County team which has trained at BCSC for the last 25 years, and the Baltimore City team which practices at DSC.

 

Dan is a lifelong sailor whose father founded Chesapeake Hobie Fleet 54, and he raced Hobie 16's for most of his life. Dan is currently racing Hobie 14's on the National circuit. His love of sailing and interest in making it accessible to all makes him passionate about the Community Learn-to-Sail programs that are at the core of BCSC.

Randy Dulin-Fleet Manager

Randy Dulin joined the BCSC Board, as Fleet Manager, in the Fall of 2020. He has worked in the Healthcare industry for over 30 years. Randy learned to sail at Camp SeaGull in North Carolina. He learned to sail there in his early teen years and then went on to be a Sailing Camp Counselor and Assistant Sailing Master there during his college years. He continues to have the passion for helping others have the opportunity to learn how to sail.

Angela Kozlowski

George Hergenhahn-Treasurer

George is retired from a long career in financial management. He worked for a variety of non-profit and government agencies. Since retiring he has used his time to support a variety of non-profit organizations, including Special Olympics Maryland, Baltimore County Sailing Center, Maryland Center for the Arts and the Harford County Public Library.

​

Most recently George was the Chief Financial Officer for Special Olympics Maryland where he managed a State-wide budget in excess of $8 million. For the last 13 years George was “Freezin for a Reason” as he participated in the wildest Winter tradition in Maryland – The Maryland State Police Polar Bear Plunge.

  

Prior to working at Special Olympics George managed large budgets for the Baltimore City Housing Authority, the City’s Office of Homeless Services and the Baltimore County Public Schools.

​

George was born and raised in Baltimore City. For the last twenty years he and his wife Cynthia have lived in Abingdon. They enjoy traveling the world, skiing and volunteering in the community.
