High School Sailing
High School Sailing is one of the most exciting and challenging programs BCSC offers. We treat sailboat racing with the same passion that other reserve for soccer or lacrosse. Students show incredible dedication by attending practices after school. It is worth it though... the breeze on the Chesapeake in the Spring and Fall is exceptional. All students are welcome to participate regardless of sailing experience. HS sailing is currently open to those in 8th through 12th grade. For grades 8-12, our High School Sailing (420s) program will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school (4pm-6:30pm) beginning on September 8 for 6 weeks (ending October 15). We welcome beginner sailors to this program. Sailors have the opportunity to compete for their HS teams in weekend regattas. We currently support teams from Gilman, Notre Dame Prep, Calvert Hall and Park, as well as growing teams from Towson HS, Poly, Loyola, and a BCSC Combo/House team. Parents/sailors coordinate transportation on their own through each school's team captain/parent liaison. We will have a parent and student interest meeting on Google Meet on 8/25/26 at 7:30 pm. Email us to see if your school has a sailing team: Programs@bcsailing.org
Racing Opportunities
Sailors also have the opportunity to practice their racing skills in weekend regattas.
